Saturday, April 25 10:00am-12:00pm at Hillcrest Thrift Store in Lee's Summit
Hillcrest Thrift Stores support the ministry of Hillcrest Transitional Housing, which is working to help solve homelessness in Kansas City. We will be sorting donations, organizing, and cleaning up the Lee’s Summit store. Children are welcome to help, but anyone under the age of 15 must have a parent serve with them. Sign up using the form below while there’s still space for this project!
Christian Prison Ministry
Saturday, April 25 10:00 -11:30am in the BSCC Coffee House
Help us minister to incarcerated inmates by writing notes of encouragement to the men and women in their Celebrate Recovery programs. In this project, you’ll also learn about the mission and vision of CPM and discover additional ways to get involved. On top of all that, we are also asking for donations of paperback large-print Bibles for inmates. Sign up to save your spot or to donate Bibles!
God’s Bucket Brigade Set Up
Saturday, April 25 – 1:00-2:30pm in the BSCC Lobby
In preparation for the God’s Bucket Brigade hygiene kit assembly line on Sunday morning, we will need a small team of volunteers to prep and stage the supplies in the lobby. Kids are welcome to help out with this project alongside their parents. Sign up ahead of time with the button below.
Blue Springs Parks Department
Saturday, April 25 – 1:00-2:30pm at The Fieldhouse in Blue Springs
Blue Springs Parks Department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all the parks, trails, and facilities in Blue Springs. We will be helping them clean up and spread mulch at The Fieldhouse. Bring your own gloves and tools (shovels, wheelbarrows, rakes, etc.), if you have them. Space is limited, so sign up using the button below.
Sundays, April 19, April 26, & May 3 – 8:00am, 9:30am, & 11:00am services at BSCC
Our $1 For One offerings over the next three weeks will help defray the costs of this year’s Impact Week projects. The total cost of supplies and materials to complete all the projects we have identified is $11,800! That’s a big number, but we are confident that our people are generous and committed to our community! Please pray about ways you can contribute to make an impact on our community!
Sunday, April 26 – 9:00am-12:30pm in the BSCC Lobby
God’s Bucket Brigade believes that showing someone they care through meeting their physical needs opens a door to meeting their spiritual needs. GBB provides buckets of food, supplies, and hope to men and women affected by homelessness. We will be taking two Sundays (April 26 and May 3) to assemble supplies for 200 buckets and fill them for distribution later that month. On April 26, we will assemble hygiene kits and snacks to put in the buckets the following Sunday. Look for us in the lobby and encourage your family to help us fill a bucket with hope!
Sunday, April 26 – 8:00am-12:30pm in the BSCC Connection Point
Help us minister to incarcerated inmates by writing notes of encouragement to the men and women through Christian Prison Ministry. CPM shares the gospel with inmates every week, encourages them in their faith, and equips them for re-entry into society with sound, biblical tools and resources. If you would like to write a few notes of encouragement for an inmate, pick up some cards at the Connection Point on Sunday, April 26, and return them the following Sunday, May 3. There are specific guidelines you need to follow, and they will be available with the cards. (Or if you prefer, make or purchase your own cards and bring them to the church on Sunday, May 3.)
Sunday, April 26 – 8:00am-12:30pm in the BSCC Atrium
Help us spread hope, joy, and love to our community by making Blessing Rocks! These bright, colorful rocks will be personalized with an encouraging word, phrase, or symbol and then placed in strategic locations around Blue Springs. When people see them, they are reminded of the truth on the rock and are blessed! You can make a few or a lot, and this is a great project for families to do before or after Sunday services. There’s no need to sign up for this event, just show up and create!
Hope House Birthday Boxes
Sunday, April 26 – 12:30pm-1:30pm in the BSCC Atrium
Hope House provides shelter for individuals and families in domestic violence situations. Every month, they host a Birthday Party for the kids living there. We will be packing up birthday supplies into boxes for them to use each month. You can either volunteer to join us on Sunday, April 26, to pack up the boxes, or donate supplies online.
